Lucas Xu

Lucas Xu is a 10th grade student from Sydney, Australia. He began his piano journey at the age of six in Seattle, Washington, and has been studying with Ms. Julia since 2019.

Lucas has earned several awards at international music competitions. In 2024, he won the silver medal in a duet at the AADGT International Young Gifted Musicians Festival, The Passion of Music, and performed at the winners’ concert at Carnegie Hall in June. In 2025, Lucas was awarded 2nd place in the American Protégé International Music Talent Competition, returning to Carnegie Hall for a winners’ recital in May. That same month, he also received a bronze medal in the Northern Lights Piano Festival Competition. Further distinguishing himself, Lucas won 3rd place at Special Venus Music Awards International Competition and performed in the winners’ recital at Harvard University. Most recently, he received first prize in the 2025 Golden Classical Music Awards and performed in Carnegie Hall. Additionally, Lucas has earned several superior awards in the Pop, Jazz, and Rock ADMTA festivals, and has consistently received gold medals in the TMTA theory tests since 2019.

Other than playing piano, Lucas enjoys playing tennis and building LEGOs.
